You are here: Home | Sept 2006 Search Trip | Yap Village Dance, September 2006 Yap Village Dance, September 2006 Although we visited numerous Yap villages last year (2005) while searching for planes, we did not take time to experience a Yap village dance. This year we planned an evening to visit a village and witness a bamboo dance by a group of Yapese children. After entered the village by walking down a 400 year old stone path we were treated to a very nice evening of dancing, tree climbing, and beetle nut chewing. In addition, an American couple staying at our hotel decided to renew their vows in the village. A village chief facilitate their ceremony after the village dance was completed.
